I fall away from wakefulness to the plink of pennies against my bedroom window. As I slink through sleep, the sky in my head fills with dreams made of candy. I wash licorice and lollipops in salt water taffy. My feet are rinsed by scouring sands straight down to the bone. I bite off gummy bear heads that scream about oppression. I chew remorselessly. The fruits of my unconsciousness are tasteless and jagged. I spit out a mouthful of bile and bone. I wake with broken teeth and hibernation sickness. There's a dozen copper coins on the windowsill.
