We scouted the remains of a plastic auditorium in the middle of the night. We wore striped rags and searched the rubble for paper flowers. We found one with frayed petals and a sewn-on name. We shared a kiss and warmed ourselves by the last tiny glow we could wring from it's ashes. We were just very old children who played at adventuring while grown men and women died across the river.
