Adult children behave like toddlers with soiled diapers. Faces purple with rage. Lungs on the brink of collapse from the strain of screaming. Spring rain comes to wash away the settled complacency of winter. The spores of countless rotting hives is the seasoning in the air. I hand-draw a mask with a childishly scary face to deter conversation and ease yellowed lungs. The bile of disgust in my throat is an efficient reminder of average stupidity. Despite numerous chokepoints, a heavy-handed, unilateral and self-serving righteousness flavors the floods. Selective hearing and a lack of empathy must be very valuable skills. Akin to raw faith, or indoctrinated zealotry. Despite the investment of years, it's nearly not worth writing about.
