Unchecked verdancy in a half-clouded afternoon. An ocean of slanted green planes that ripple under chilly spring breath. A trio of black monarchs chase each other around a lilac cluster. The effusivenness of empty trails. Juxtaposed against heavy-handed lockdowns back in the city. Right angles of man-made concrete and waterfalls. A small flock of magpies swoop and swarm elegantly in blue streaks. A pair of abandoned rollerskates, not dirty enough. Returning to a bomb shelter after the sun has set. And for once, sleeping deeply on contentment.
