Wooden windchimes recently stained a vibrant green. The pleasant moan of breeze through a made-up landscape. Square apples on right-angle trees. The metallic tinkle of of water droplets sliding over plastic leaves. A plain, charcoal dress, with a drenched hem, sliding across a floor of foliage. Emeralds and jades as a reprieve from rust and ash. The sun, losing itself for a while among the clouds. Reappearing during an awkward silence to burn away wandering eyes. The girl in the dress shrugs away the sunbeams She pulls the negative space over herself, so she can grieve appropriately, for a little while.
