Sleeping until the swallowing of the sun. Shuffling through hallways dimly illuminated by strangled daylight. As the shadows of eaves become the ink of stars, I fashion a noose out of a string of old Christmas lights. Hung in the rafters for show. And emergencies. The cracking shear of rotted wood. The brutal welcome of a split kneecap. Starbursting behind milky eyes. Crumpled breathing on cold concrete. Over the tinnitus of grit teeth, the film plays; "Idiot! In Latin, Jehovah begins with an 'I'!"
