The bright light of arcade nostalgia. Long drives down sunsetting roads with shadows for passengers. Evenings thick with anticipatory breaths. Cover charges paid in quarters to an affable black gentleman. The cacaphony of my early twenties contained in countless quarters. Neuroplastics carved from cheaply made pizza and lines of billiard tables. Walking back through parking lot fluorescence, wreathed in steam clouds, and with a whole life left to squander. Now I can't step on recessed metal plates without wanting to dance.
